The Story:
Igaluk is the moon god and Malina the sun goddess in Inuit mythology. Their story is quite violent, as he attacked and violated his sister Malina and she subsequently cut off her breasts and fled in the snow. He followed the traces of blood she left in the snow. They ran so fast they took off into the sky. He became the moon as his torch had slowly died during his persecution of her. Her torch however stayed forever bright and she became the sun. They are doomed into an endless chase.
